In our working lives, creativity was part of the job — a necessity for solving problems and navigating complex challenges. When we stepped away from those careers, creativity didn't stop, it just found a different path, coming forward in differnent ways. For Shari, that meant fiber arts; for Greg, watercolor painting.
Creating art is different from being creative at work. In the workplace, creativity often comes with constraints, deadlines, and unreasonable expectations. (We suspect you've been there). In the arts, we’ve discovered a sense of freedom—freedom to explore, experiment, fail, and to take our curiosity in different directions. There’s something especially meaningful about making something you can hold in your hands: a woven scarf made from hand-spun silk, or a landscape captured in watercolor and framed for the wall. This kind of creativity is personal, tactile, and deeply satisfying. Any expectations are of our own making.
With that creative freedom also comes a natural desire to share what we discover with others. This website exists for that reason. It’s a place where we share our ongoing explorations, experiments, and growth as artists. This isn’t a complete collection of everything we’ve ever made—some pieces don’t work out as planned, but that’s part of the journey. Those moments of failure often teach us the most and help shape what comes next.
Think of this site as a virtual gallery—one we hope you’ll enjoy browsing, and maybe one that inspires you to discover your own creative outlet.
